Oct. 25, 2025 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Rotary Clubs from across the North Country are joining together to host a community walk in support of Rotary International’s global mission to eradicate polio. The event will take place on Saturday, October 25, at Potsdam High School on Stevie’s Trail. The walk is being organized by the Rotary Clubs of Potsdam, Canton, Ogdensburg, Massena, Malone and Chateaugay. Registration will be open from 8 to 9 a.m., with a suggested donation of $10 per participant. All proceeds will go directly to the Rotary International Foundation to support polio eradication efforts worldwide. The walk will step off at 9 a.m., following opening remarks from Rotary leaders who will share the impact of Rotary’s long-standing commitment to ending polio. “Rotary has been at the forefront of the fight against polio for more than 35 years,” said Rotary Area Governor Michael Griffin. “Every step we take together brings us closer to a polio-free world.” Polio cases have been reduced by more than 99 percent since Rotary launched its PolioPlus program in 1985, but the fight is not over. Continued community support and awareness are critical to achieving eradication. Rotarians invite individuals, families, students, and community groups to participate in this inspiring event. Together, each walker will be part of a global movement to make history. To sign up, go to bit.ly/nny-rotary-polio-walk . For more information, please contact us at rotary.massena@gmail.com . |
