Oct 25, 2022 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM
The Rotary Club of Potsdam will host our annual four-club dinner to celebrate our Dodge Pond camp and children on Tuesday, October 25. Hear firsthand about how this camp affects our communities. Through this camp, our clubs provide children with disabilities a chance to experience summer camp. Date: Tuesday, October 25 A selection of eight entrees will be available to order at the dinner: prime rib, beef brisket, chicken pesto, chicken parmesan, haddock (broiled or fried), maritime platter (broiled shrimp scampi, fish filet, fried clams, and fried shrimp), vegetarian ravioli, or pasta primavera. As the dinner costs only covers food, there will also be a Silent Auction and 50/50. We ask that attendees and/or their clubs, please consider bringing a gift basket or items for the Silent Auction. New Dodge Pond Facility Manager Dale Barker and The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence Chief Strategic Officer (and Canton Rotarian) Timothy Welpe will be there to fill you in on Dodge Pond. Please join us for an evening of learning about the Dodge Pond Camp Week that your club sponsors. RSVP by October 18 to dodgepond@potsdamrotary.org. |

The Rotary Club of Canton will conduct its semi-annual roadside clean-up on Saturday morning, October 29, and President Jeanne is looking for some Potsdam Rotarians to assist. They will meet at 8 a.m. at the Price Chopper parking lot in Canton. They maintain a two-mile stretch of Route 310, just north of the Price Chopper. Last fall, it only took about two hours to complete. They divide it into sections so you just walk along a half-mile stretch with a partner. In the spring, we had one Potsdam volunteer. We were hoping for 2-3 this time. Please let Michael know if you can help out.

Our club will be staffing the Potsdam Area Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Potsdam Price Chopper. We envision Rotarians working in pairs (or trios) to make it more fun and promote fellowship. The shifts are two hours each: 10-12, 12-2, 2-4, and 4-6. Potsdam Rotarians can sign up here. The money collected by the kettle drive in Potsdam stays in the Potsdam area (95% after expenses) and is used to help families in need throughout the year. This falls under our Rotary focus of "saving mothers and children." The Potsdam Campaign is coordinated annually by Kate Mikel of Norwood, the Associate Director of Clarkson's Student Success Center. You might remember that in 2019 we awarded Kate our Service Above Self Award. |
