The Rotary Club of Potsdam will hold its inaugural "Wheelchair Challenge" to benefit The Wheelchair Foundation on Saturday, October 3, from 9 a.m. to noon at the SUNY Potsdam Field House at Maxcy Hall.

The Wheelchair Foundation will match every $75 Rotary raises, thus providing $150, which will purchase a wheelchair for a person who needs one but cannot afford to buy one. Potsdam Rotary's goal for the Wheelchair Challenge is to raise funds for a minimum of 25 wheelchairs for people throughout the world.

Each four-person team must pre-register and pre-pay (mimimum $75 per team) by September 28. (Walk-in teams cannot be accommodated.) This will be a wheelchair relay race/elimination competition.

Prizes will be awarded for the team with the most money raised, the first, second and third place teams, and for the team with the most spirit/best costume. There will be door prizes, and gift certificates for the first 100 participants. Prize sponsors include Pizza Hut, Perry's Ice Cream, Starbucks, The Computer Guys, Potsdam Big M, Great Northern Printing, Subway, The Village Diner, Videorama and Verizon.

Registration forms are available at: http://www.potsdamrotary.org.
