The Rotary Club of Potsdam will honor Peggy Snell with the Paul Harris Award at its annual dinner on Wednesday, June 20, at the Cheel Campus Center at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y.

Maureen Farina will also be installed as 2012-2013 president at the event, while Lowell Warner will be honored as outgoing president.
 

Snell will be honored as a Paul Harris Fellow for her demonstrated commitment to the goals and purposes of Rotary and "in appreciation of their tangible assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world."

Snell is the immediate past secretary of the Rotary Club of Potsdam. Recently retired manager of the Clarkson Inn, she joined Rotary in 2006, and served on its board for six years. Born in Malone and raised in Massena, Snell and her husband, Steven, have lived in Potsdam since 1964.

All Rotarians, and family, friends and colleagues of the honorees are invited to attend.

A social hour with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar gets underway at 5:30 p.m. Cucumber cups with smoked salmon, a fruit & cheese platter, and smoked duck crostini with a goat cheese and rhubarb compote will be served. Musical entertainment will be provided by pianist Drew X. Coles.

A buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., featuring grilled beef medallions with a brandy peppercorn sauce, seared salmon with leeks, tortellini with sundried tomatoes and Alfredo sauce, wild rice pilaf, roasted veggie platter, mixed greens salad, tomato mozzarella salad, rhubarb upside down cake with vanilla ice cream, and coffee and teas.
